Rewarding your momentum

As we hinted in one of our latest emails, we felt it was time to add something truly impactful to ConFoo, something with the potential to empower our community in meaningful ways and to celebrate talent and the will to share it to the industry.

That's why we're thrilled with the launch of the ConFoo Developer Awards!!

This new addition to our lineup of activities has two core objectives.

• First, it's a good opportunity for junior developers and fresh recruits to make their mark, learn something new and contribute to the next wave of innovation.
• Second, it’s the perfect platform to spotlight some of this year’s most impactful open-source projects. After all, one of the best ways to grow is by lifting others. And what better way to do that than by being part of something that benefits the entire developer community?

At its core, the ConFoo Dev Award’s goal is to inspire growth, elevate performance, and help our community shine as a leading example in the industry. We truly feel it is going to be the next stepping stone in the assured growth of the community.

Developers interested in registering can do so in the following categories:

1. Community leader: For individuals who inspire and unite developers through meetups, events, and hackathons, leaving a lasting impact.
2. Speaker of the year: For individuals who make a significant impact by sharing knowledge through talks, educational content, mentoring, or open-source contributions.
3. Open-source contributors: For individuals who enhance open-source projects through expertise in bug fixes, optimization, documentation, or marketing.
4. Rising Star: For individuals or projects showing great potential and making an impact, despite not yet being widely known.
5. AI Innovator of the Year: For individuals making significant contributions to AI through research, innovation, or real-world applications.

Please note that you must be present for the gala, scheduled on Friday during our closing session, to be eligible. For the occasion, please notes that the gala will be public and thus free of charge, if you wish to attend.

But we highly recommend that you register for ConFoo 2025 and get the full experience of what High Tech can feel like in Quebec.

Looking for Volunteers

We're looking for people who can make a minimum 1-day commitment. Those who volunteer on February 24-25 will be helping with setup for the conference. Those who volunteer from February 26-28 will be stationed in the speaker sessions and around the conference venue to help with attendee requests.

We will prioritize full-time computer science students, but everyone is welcome to apply.

Here are some of the things you'll gain by getting involved:

• Attend presentations on new, exciting technologies given by international industry experts.
• Meet and network with members of the web community, forward-thinking tech companies, and our international speakers.
