Cryptocurrency Cookbook for PHP Developers

Bitcoin and other distributed virtual currencies are revolutionizing how monetary value is stored and exchanged on the Internet. Key opportunities and risks will be described. The two main objectives of this talk will be to explain the underlying blockchain and cryptology technologies that make them work, and to demonstrate PHP recipes for using the web services that enable payment processing, identity validation, and smart contract execution.

David Kelleher

Emerson College

David Kelleher is an Emerson College affiliated professor, multimedia artist, and freelance PHP/MySQL and UX developer with 15 years of industry experience. He loves the intersection of the arts and emerging technologies, working on projects like a juggling gesture interface for electronic music theater and an interactive overhead video canopy.
As an educator, he created the web curriculum for multiple colleges and institutions in the Boston area. David is also a co-organizer of Northeast PHP.
