Easily build serverless AI applications

AI features are now table stakes for applications, but working with AI can be hard. This talk will show how the serverless WebAssembly framework Spin can be used to easily build AI applications. We'll show how the serverless paradigm is a great fit for working with expensive AI models. Expect to see lots of demos in this talk and walk out with an understanding of how you could go build your first AI enabled application.

Lessons learned from bringing OpenTelemetry to WebAssembly

The world of WebAssembly (Wasm) is rapidly evolving, and observability is becoming increasingly crucial for developers who rely on Wasm in production environments. In this talk, I will share learnings from my involvement in bringing OpenTelemetry support to the WebAssembly ecosystem via open source contributions to the Spin framework and the WASI Observe effort. Prepare to hear about the challenges, insights, and best practices I’ve discovered.

Running serverless Wasm alongside containers with SpinKube

Running containers on Kubernetes is great, but can be too heavy weight for a serverless paradigm. WebAssembly's small binary sizes and great performance make it a perfect fit for serverless. We'll demonstrate how SpinKube can be used to run fast serverless WebAssembly apps (that start in less than 1 ms) in the same cluster as your containerized applications. SpinKube even allows you to continue to use the cloud native tooling you're used to.

What Actually Is WebAssembly: Taking a Look Under the Hood

This talk will crack open the hood of WebAssembly and help demystify what is going on inside at a beginner friendly level. If you always wondered why everyone is so excited about WebAssembly than this is the talk for you. You'll learn what a WebAssembly module is, how it is executed, and how you compile code into WebAssembly. We'll explore the WebAssembly Component model and we'll also finish with a demo.
