You build stuff. Websites. Mobile Apps. Lego Cities. You breathe APIs. Speak fluent JavaScript. Snack on GIT. Drink HTML5 with a sprinkle of CSS. Up for a new challenge?

You are a PHP ninja. A Python warrior. A Java master. A Node.js guru. You want to scale your apps. In the cloud. One that plays well with your tools. Heard of Azure?

You build for iOS. Dabble in Android. You want code re-use. HTML5 everywhere. APIs for everything. Services you can plug into. Want that in YOUR OWN Windows 8 app?

This is your opportunity: To build. To learn. To meet. To share. To win prizes. To have fun. To use your skillz.

Got a fruit logo on your laptop? No problem!

You provide the ideas, the creativity, the enthusiasm, choose the content you want to learn – we provide the space, the food, the coffee, the experts, the tools, and the training that you get to pick.

It’s two days of intense coding, interesting content, great people, cool swag, tasty food, fun games! Make some friends. Build some apps. Show them off. Win some prizes!

You’ll be hacking away alongside mini-learning sessions ranging from Windows 8 development using HTML/JS to building powerful back-ends and APIs in the Windows Azure cloud -- regardless if you build apps for iOS, Android, or Windows. You’ll walk away with hands-on experience, top-notch training, great contacts, and an app or two in the cloud or on Windows 8.

So, sign up today! Your $10 charitable donation will secure your spot at the hackathon you don’t want to miss!

FAQ

Q: How much does the event cost?

A: $10 and proceeds will be donated to a charitable cause.

Q: Do I absolutely need to present my application at the end of the day?

A: Of course not, but keep in mind that you don’t have to present a finished application in front of others. Present only what you were able to do in that time.

Q: Where and when is the event?

A: ConFoo 2013: Hilton Montreal Bonaventure Hotel – February 25 and 26 from 9AM to 5PM.

Q: What do I need to bring with me to participate?

A: A computer with Windows 8, and the SDK in addition to your coding skills. Not on Windows? No problem, we will have tools you need to setup your system on the fly. We also highly suggest you to create a Windows Store account so you’ll be able to reserve the application name you had in mind, and be able to deploy as soon as you’ll need to.

Q: I don’t have any application ideas, can I come still?

A: Of course as you could find inspiration from others developers, and we can help you brainstorm and find the perfect idea for you.

Q: I don’t have any experience with Windows 8 with HTML/CSS/JavaScript, is this an event for me?

A: Yes! Even if hackathons are made to code, we welcome everyone who wants to learn. We will have tutorials that you will be able to follow step-by-step to help you understand, and create applications for Windows 8. You can already start to do them at home.

Q: I prefer to create Windows 8 application with C++/XAML or C#/XAMP, can I join you?

A: No problem, join us for the hackathon. The only thing is that we cannot guarantee that we will have experts for these technologies on site to help you.
